小林xiǎo lín在zài城里chéng lǐ租zū房子fáng zi住zhù,已经yǐ jīng住zhù了le两liǎng年nián了le。Xiao Lin has been renting an apartment in the city for two years.他的tā de房子fáng zi在zài一条yī tiáo热闹rè nao的de街上jiē shang,楼下lóu xià全quán是shì饭馆fàn guǎn。His place is on a busy street, with restaurants all along the ground floor.每天měi tiān晚上wǎn shang楼下lóu xià都dōu特别tè bié吵chǎo,他tā实在shí zài受不了shòu bù liǎo了le。Every night the noise downstairs is terrible, and he really can't take it anymore.

朋友péng you问wèn他tā:“你nǐ为什么wèi shén me不bù搬家bān jiā呢ne?”His friend asked him, "Why don't you move?"小林xiǎo lín说shuō:“我wǒ也yě想xiǎng过guò,可是kě shì找zhǎo房子fáng zi太tài麻烦má fan了le。”Xiao Lin said, "I've thought about it, but apartment hunting is such a hassle."朋友péng you说shuō:“与其yǔ qí每天měi tiān抱怨bào yuàn,不如bù rú认真rèn zhēn找zhǎo一yī找zhǎo新xīn房子fáng zi。”His friend said, "Rather than complain every day, you'd be better off seriously looking for a new place."小林xiǎo lín想xiǎng了le想xiǎng,觉得jué de他tā说得shuō de对duì。Xiao Lin thought it over and decided his friend was right.与其yǔ qí在zài这里zhè lǐ睡shuì不好bù hǎo觉jiào,不如bù rú花huā点diǎn时间shí jiān找zhǎo个gè安静的ān jìng de地方dì fāng。Rather than keep sleeping badly here, better to spend some time finding somewhere quiet.

他tā打开dǎ kāi手机shǒu jī,开始kāi shǐ看kàn租zū房子fáng zi的de信息xìn xī。He opened his phone and started browsing rental listings.房子fáng zi多duō得很de hěn:大dà的de、小的xiǎo de、贵guì的de、便宜pián yi的de,什么样shén me yàng的de都有dōu yǒu。There were plenty of places: big, small, expensive, cheap — every kind you could imagine.他tā跟gēn自己zì jǐ说shuō:“房间fáng jiān大小dà xiǎo无所谓wú suǒ wèi,但是dàn shì一定要yī dìng yào安静ān jìng。”He told himself, "The size of the room doesn't matter, but it absolutely has to be quiet."看了kàn le一个yī ge晚上wǎn shang,他tā有点累yǒu diǎn lèi了le,干脆gān cuì把bǎ手机shǒu jī放下fàng xià,先xiān睡觉shuì jiào。After browsing all evening he was getting tired, so he simply put the phone down and went to sleep.

第二天dì èr tiān是shì周末zhōu mò,反正fǎn zhèng没事méi shì,他tā决定jué dìng出去chū qù看kàn房子fáng zi。The next day was the weekend — he had nothing going on anyway, so he decided to go look at apartments.他tā还hái叫jiào上了shàng le朋友péng you:“你nǐ陪péi我去wǒ qù吧ba,反正fǎn zhèng你nǐ周末zhōu mò也yě没事méi shì!”He roped in his friend, too: "Come with me — it's not like you have weekend plans anyway!"朋友péng you笑着xiào zhe说shuō:“好好hǎo hǎo好hǎo,我wǒ陪péi你nǐ去qù。”His friend laughed: "Fine, fine, I'll come along."

找zhǎo了le一yī整天zhěng tiān,小林xiǎo lín好不容易hǎo bù róng yì才cái找到zhǎo dào三个sān gè觉得jué de不错bù cuò的de地方dì fāng。After searching all day, Xiao Lin finally managed to find three places that seemed decent.他tā心里xīn li想xiǎng:找zhǎo房子fáng zi真zhēn难nán,不过bù guò为了wèi le睡个shuì gè好觉hǎo jiào,值得zhí de!He thought to himself: apartment hunting is hard — but for a good night's sleep, it's worth it!
