明天míng tiān我要wǒ yào一个人yī gè rén坐zuò火车huǒ chē去qù看kàn朋友péng you,妈妈mā ma比bǐ我wǒ还hái紧张jǐn zhāng。Tomorrow I'm taking the train by myself to visit a friend, and Mom is more nervous than I am.

晚饭wǎn fàn的de时候shí hou,她tā说shuō:“外面wài miàn很hěn冷lěng,你nǐ最好zuì hǎo多duō穿chuān一点yī diǎn。”At dinner she said, "It's cold out — you'd better put on a bit more."

“火车huǒ chē很早hěn zǎo,你nǐ最好zuì hǎo早点zǎo diǎn睡觉shuì jiào,别bié再zài看kàn手机shǒu jī了le。”"The train leaves early — you'd better go to bed soon and stop looking at your phone."

我wǒ说shuō想xiǎng明天míng tiān早上zǎo shang再zài准备zhǔn bèi行李xíng li,她tā说shuō:“你nǐ最好zuì hǎo今天jīn tiān晚上wǎn shang就jiù准备zhǔn bèi好hǎo。”I said I'd pack tomorrow morning, but she said, "You'd better get it ready tonight."

她tā又yòu说shuō:“路上lù shang可能kě néng下雨xià yǔ,你nǐ最好zuì hǎo带dài一把yī bǎ伞sǎn。”Then she added, "It might rain on the way — you'd better bring an umbrella."

我wǒ想xiǎng走路zǒu lù去qù火车站huǒ chē zhàn,妈妈mā ma想xiǎng了le想xiǎng说shuō:“太tài远yuǎn了le,你nǐ还是hái shi坐车zuò chē去qù吧ba。”I wanted to walk to the train station, but Mom thought it over and said, "It's too far — better just take a car."

睡觉shuì jiào以前yǐ qián,我wǒ还hái想xiǎng再zài看kàn一会儿yī huìr电视diàn shì。Before bed, I still wanted to watch a little more TV.

妈妈mā ma笑着xiào zhe说shuō:“已经yǐ jīng十shí一点yī diǎn了le,你nǐ还是hái shi快kuài去qù睡shuì吧ba。”Mom smiled and said, "It's already eleven — better just get to bed."

第二天dì èr tiān早上zǎo shang,外面wài miàn真的zhēn de下xià起qǐ了le大雨dà yǔ。The next morning, it really was pouring outside.

我wǒ穿着chuān zhuó厚hòu衣服yī fu,拿ná着zhe伞sǎn,坐zuò上了shàng le车chē。Wearing warm clothes and holding my umbrella, I got into the car.

我wǒ心里xīn li想xiǎng:下次xià cì出门chū mén以前yǐ qián,我wǒ最好zuì hǎo先xiān听tīng妈妈mā ma的话de huà。I thought to myself: next time before I go out, I'd better listen to Mom first.
