Getting Ready (Part 2)
The Cooking Contest — sharper knives, bigger pots, better luck.

星期五,两个人都去买菜。On Friday, both men went shopping for ingredients.老张起得比老王早,买到了最新鲜的鱼。Old Zhang got up earlier than Old Wang and bought the freshest fish.可是老王的运气比他好,买到了很好的牛肉。But Old Wang's luck was better — he found excellent beef.
老张的刀比老王的快。Old Zhang's knife was sharper than Old Wang's.老王的锅比老张的大。Old Wang's pot was bigger than Old Zhang's.
晚上,他们都在家里练习。That evening, they both practiced at home.老张的太太说:“你今天做的比昨天好。”Old Zhang's wife said, "Today's dish is better than yesterday's."
老王的太太说:“少放点盐,会比现在更好。”Old Wang's wife said, "Use less salt, and it'll be even better than it is now."
