Thumbelina
A tiny girl's adventure to find her true home.
从前，有个女人想要个孩子，Once upon a time, a woman wanted a child,仙女送给她一粒神奇的大麦粒。and a fairy gave her a magical barley grain.女人种下它，开出一朵花，The woman planted it, and it grew into a flower,花蕊里坐着个只有拇指那么大的小姑娘—and in its center sat a girl as tiny as a thumb—大家都叫她“拇指姑娘”！everyone called her 'Thumbelina'!
一天夜里，一只老癞蛤蟆偷偷抱走了她：One night, an old toad secretly took her away:“你给我儿子当新娘吧！”'You will be my son’s bride!'它把拇指姑娘放在荷叶上。It placed Thumbelina on a lily pad.小鱼们心疼她，咬断叶梗，让荷叶船顺水流走。Little fish pitied her, bit the stem, and let the lily pad float away.
路上，金龟子抓走了她，On the way, a beetle snatched her,可其他金龟子嫌她“只有两条腿，真丑！”，but other beetles disliked her, saying, 'Only two legs, so ugly!',又把她丢在森林里。and abandoned her in the forest.拇指姑娘又冷又饿，Thumbelina was cold and hungry,用树叶当被子熬过了冬天。using leaves as a blanket to survive the winter.
春天来了，她遇见田鼠婆婆。Spring came, and she met a field mouse grandmother.好心的田鼠收留了她，The kind field mouse took her in,却逼她嫁给隔壁有钱的鼹鼠。but forced her to marry the wealthy mole next door.拇指姑娘哭着说：“我不想住在地底下，见不到阳光！”Thumbelina cried, 'I don’t want to live underground without sunlight!'
这时，她救过的一只燕子飞来：Then, a swallow she had saved flew by:“快骑到我背上！我带你去温暖的地方！”'Quick, ride on my back! I’ll take you to a warm place!'燕子飞呀飞，带她来到花儿的王国。The swallow flew and flew, bringing her to the flower kingdom.
花丛中的王子一见她就笑了：The prince among the flowers smiled when he saw her:“你像最娇嫩的花苞，愿意做我的王后吗？”'You’re like a delicate flower bud, will you be my queen?'
拇指姑娘终于笑了，轻轻点了点头。Thumbelina finally smiled and gently nodded.从此，她和王子在花瓣宫殿里，过着幸福的日子。From then on, she lived happily with the prince in a petal palace.
