A Day in the Life of a Chef — Chef Zhang shops the market and opens the kitchen.
张师傅是一位餐厅的厨师。Chef Zhang works at a restaurant.他早上六点起床，因为餐厅七点要开门。He wakes up at six because the restaurant opens at seven.
起床后，他洗脸、刷牙，再去买新鲜的菜。After getting up, he washes his face, brushes his teeth, and goes to buy fresh ingredients.市场里人很多，有卖鱼的，也有卖菜的。The market is crowded — some sell fish, others sell vegetables.他买了青菜、鸡蛋、肉和豆腐。He buys vegetables, eggs, meat, and tofu.
回到餐厅，他开始准备今天的菜单。Back at the restaurant, he starts preparing today's menu.助手帮他洗菜、切菜，他检查每样东西。His assistant helps wash and chop vegetables, and he checks everything.七点多，客人陆续进来，他的一天正式开始。After seven, customers start coming in — his day officially begins.
