Abraham's Great Test
God promises Abraham countless descendants — then asks him for the hardest thing of all.
很久以前，有一个人叫亚伯拉罕。A long time ago, there was a man named Abraham.他和妻子撒拉都老了，还没有孩子。He and his wife Sarah were old, and they still had no children.
一天晚上，神对亚伯拉罕说：One night, God said to Abraham:“你看天上的星星。你的子孙会像星星一样多。”"Look at the stars in the sky. Your descendants will be as many as the stars."
亚伯拉罕相信神的话。Abraham believed God's word.很多年以后，撒拉真的生了一个儿子。Many years later, Sarah really did give birth to a son.他们给孩子起名叫以撒。They named the child Isaac.亚伯拉罕非常爱以撒。Abraham loved Isaac very much.
有一天，神要试一试亚伯拉罕的心。One day, God wanted to test Abraham's heart.
神说：“把你的儿子带到山上，献给我。”God said: "Take your son to the mountain and offer him to me."
亚伯拉罕很爱儿子，可是他更相信神。Abraham loved his son dearly, but he trusted God even more.第二天一早，他就带着以撒上了山。Early the next morning, he took Isaac up the mountain.
就在最重要的时候，天使大声叫他：At the most important moment, an angel called out to him:“住手！不要伤害孩子！现在我知道你的心了。”"Stop! Do not hurt the child! Now I know your heart."
亚伯拉罕看见一只羊，就把羊献给了神。Abraham saw a ram, and he offered the ram to God.
神说：“因为你听我的话，我要给你很大的福气。”God said: "Because you obeyed me, I will give you a great blessing."
亚伯拉罕和以撒平安地回家了。Abraham and Isaac went home in peace.后来，他的子孙真的像天上的星星一样多。Later, his descendants really did become as many as the stars in the sky.
