晚上wǎn shang,约翰yuē hàn和hé小婷xiǎo tíng在家zài jiā吃饭chī fàn。In the evening, John and Xiaoting are having dinner at home.约翰yuē hàn的de手机shǒu jī响xiǎng了le,是shì妈妈mā ma打dǎ来lái的de。John's phone rings — it's his mom calling.

妈妈mā ma说shuō:“你们nǐ men什么时候shén me shí hou来lái美国měi guó?我们wǒ men都dōu想xiǎng你们nǐ men了le!”Mom says: "When are you coming to America? We miss you both!"

约翰yuē hàn看着kàn zhe小婷xiǎo tíng,小婷xiǎo tíng笑了xiào le。John looks at Xiaoting, and Xiaoting smiles.约翰yuē hàn说shuō:“下个月xià gè yuè怎么样zěn me yàng?”John says: "How about next month?"

妈妈mā ma很高兴hěn gāo xìng:“太好了tài hǎo le!爸爸bà ba说shuō他tā要yào做zuò很多hěn duō好吃hǎo chī的de!”Mom is very happy: "Wonderful! Dad says he's going to cook lots of delicious food!"

打dǎ完wán电话diàn huà,小婷xiǎo tíng有一点yǒu yī diǎn担心dān xīn。After the call, Xiaoting is a little worried.她tā说shuō:“可是kě shì我的wǒ de英文Yīng wén不好bù hǎo……”She says: "But my English isn't good..."

约翰yuē hàn笑着xiào zhe说shuō:“没关系méi guān xi,我wǒ妈妈mā ma现在xiàn zài会huì说shuō中文zhōng wén!”John says with a smile: "Don't worry — my mom can speak Chinese now!"

小婷xiǎo tíng问wèn:“你nǐ爸爸bà ba呢ne?”Xiaoting asks: "And your dad?"

约翰yuē hàn想xiǎng了le想xiǎng,说shuō:“我wǒ爸爸bà ba会huì说shuō‘太tài好吃hǎo chī了le’!”John thinks for a moment and says: "My dad can say 'tai hao chi le'!"小婷xiǎo tíng笑了xiào le很久hěn jiǔ。Xiaoting laughs for a long time.

这个zhè ge时候shí hou,米饭mǐ fàn走了zǒu le过来guò lái,坐在zuò zài他们tā men旁边páng biān。Just then, Mifan walks over and sits down beside them.

小婷xiǎo tíng看着kàn zhe米饭mǐ fàn,问wèn:“我们wǒ men去qù美国měi guó,米饭mǐ fàn怎么办zěn me bàn?”Xiaoting looks at Mifan and asks: "If we go to America, what about Mifan?"

约翰yuē hàn看着kàn zhe米饭mǐ fàn,米饭mǐ fàn也yě看着kàn zhe约翰yuē hàn。John looks at Mifan, and Mifan looks right back at John.没有méi yǒu人rén说话shuō huà。Nobody says a word.
